Dropping in 2023 on Pampsychia, rrrrrrrrrr tKtK REMIXED features 7 tracks reworked from Argentinian experimental guitarist Javier Areal Vélez first solo album, released in 2021 at Nefarious Industries. These remixes were made by a really diverse lineup of some of the weirdest sound creators from Buenos Aires's vigorous experimental music scene: Anti Yo, Aylu, El Murki, QOA, Violeta García, Volll, and YOTO.
Javier's original album was improvised live, without overdubs, and it was an exploration of custom, LOUD, primal prepared guitar techniques that emphasize timbre and rhythm, avoiding traditional forms in favor of intensity and dynamic contrast.
Now, these seven artists have put their own spin on Javier's approach, creating a mind-bending, genre-bending experience that will (hopefully) make your ears tingle and ring for some time. Twisted soundscapes and unstable sonic entities created by these artists take you through uncharted territory, pushing the boundaries of the prepared electric guitar's already diffuse sound.
This amazing handmade artwork is a picture of a cave, an imaginary underground space made by Sara B. Diaz. Every material has been accurately selected and mostly recycled, starting from a box from the local market to the cardboard of pizza boxes we already digest. Inspo provided by Neapolitan traditional presepe, where layers of meaningful levels and spaces seem to be infinite. Every corner is a window for an action, just like the beat is inside a song.
